Will your Valentine’s Day be dull or upsetting or fun and connecting?

claypeopleheart3002Today, we’re talking about Valentine’s day and you’ve got an important choice to make about it…

Are you going to make it “no big deal” or are you going to use it to your FULL ADVANTAGE to restart the spark or even to deepen the connection between you and your spouse, partner or lover?

And if you’re single right now and want to be with a partner…

Are you going to feel sorry for yourself, burying yourself in a pint of your favorite ice cream and a movie or are you going to spread love to the people who are in your life right now?

While we’re great proponents for making every day Valentine’s day, we also love the idea of making this day a special celebration of love because if you don’t…

You’ve lost a wonderful opportunity.

The fact is that if you have someone or several someones who love you and you love them, it is a celebration.

In addition (or maybe in place of) the usual Valentine’s day cards, dinner, candy or flowers…

Here are a few ways we like to celebrate Valentine’s day and our love and we urge you to come up with your own…

1. Set aside some time to cuddle and sit close while you watch a movie, tv show or even a ballgame. Include a “make-out” session that can start with one kiss. (We did this while watching college basketball the other evening.)

2. Do something unexpected to help your partner in some way that says “I love you.” Don’t expect anything in return. (Otto brought Susie a delicious chocolate cupcake the other evening!)

3. Tell your partner what you love about him or her and be specific. It doesn’t have to be anything big but just noticing something positive will create more of the same.(Most evenings before bed, we take a few minutes to say why we’re still attracted to each other and what we appreciate about our relationship.)

If you want a love that’s special, a love that’s ALIVE and growing

Don’t miss out on a chance to create something special, even if you feel like you haven’t felt something special in a while.

Don’t let this Valentine’s day slip by without celebrating and revitalizing love no matter how it’s showing up in your life right now.

Don’t let another moment go by without opening your heart to more love and life.
